case of the mid-winter grumpies

today my mama and i have felt a case of the mid-winter grumpies comin on. some major bummed-out-ness.

 mostly the result of being cooped up in this treehouse

with no where too important to go and nothing too important to do and much too cold to be outside.

therefore we are choosing to find things around here that cure said "grumpies".

so here's my list....

1. coming in at numba one would definitely be eating. nothing says happiness like a nice, full tummy :)

2. being clean and dry. nuff said.

3. taking long naps on soft beds with my favorite blanket

4. sitting in my new high-chur 

5. hearing the funny noises my parents make at me.

mama's list....( i also allowed her to post pictures of hers since she does seem to really enjoy snapping that black, flashing case at me and other things)

she likes to cure the grumpies by...

1. snuggling with me!

2. drinking hot cocoa. (here is her classic "mug shot"-- i told her such pictures are rather cliche, but she likes it anyhow)

3. reading...

4. looking at/smelling the flowers from my daddy.



5. making funny noises at me. (whadda ya know? win-win)

since i went to the trouble of hiding in the laundry i thought i would help my mama fold some...



the whole idea is to be as inconspicuous as possible...

I've been found!...it was a perfect hiding spot if i would say so myself...

open a drawer to put some clothes away...BAM! there i am.

"oh, i think i would like to make a pot of stew"....BOOM! there i am.

i am the master, a spy, never know where i might show up...

ta da! Snow day!

So today was my first official SNOW day! This is what i think of that white stuff piling up outside:

it is very bright and makes me blink a lot.

This snow day meant that both my mama and daddy were home with me ALL day! We were able to spend so much time together as a family. i know right? completely awesome. i'm pretty sure that i like snow days quite a bit now...

My mama spent time cooking in the kitchen today. i simply can not wait till i am older and can help her with everything. She made homemade veggie stew and some banana bread...everything smelled really good. i am told i may be able to taste a banana very shortly and i am looking forward to that.

i of course enjoyed a nice, long nap all warm and cozy on my parents bed.

We spent time playing...

...one of my favorite things to do...

 i played with my toys while my parents played a game on the floor next to me...

...some sort of game with little blocks....

We also read a few of my favorite books about shapes, colors, words, and numbers...

Overall, a very good day indeed.... (big drooly smile) :)

enter...the cold

soooo unfortunately i have caught something my mama calls a "cold". i guess this life is not quite as glamourous as i thought. i now know "colds" are not fun at all. my mama is taking good care of me... she says that it will go away after it has "run its course" whatever that means.... she tells me it will make me stronger and the older i get the less "colds" i will catch... what is a "cold" anyway? and why in the world would i reach out and "catch" it? not doing THAT again...sheesh...
